'Field Process 5'

'Field Process' is a series of mono-prints, individually hand-pulled on an artist's etching press. There are six images in the series. Each print signed and titled by the artist, and numbered 1of1, indicating a unique print.

Printed in transparent, light fast, oil based etching ink, onto heavyweight acid free printmakers paper. The image is built up in several layers, from a set of hand-made collagraph plates, individually inked up before being passed through the press. Each print in the series is a unique image, and the embossing from the textures of the plate can often be clearly seen in the final piece.

The idea behind the work; The pattern of fields, of ancient hedgerow remnants, dry stone walls, and furrowed land, visible from the window of my cottage in the Scottish Borders, ever changing with the different seasons, variable light and weather, and farming activity.
