In Space - The Best of Me

Space, as a concept, means many things to me. And as a concept, as it appears in my work, one of the hardest to explain.

There is the space which consciously or unconsciously, all artists, sculptors and makers of things have to deal with. Art is better when space is understood and allowed for.
Then there is physical space, in all its rich complexity and opportunity, and dangers too... and emotional and psychological space, equally rich, complex and filled with potential and peril.

By its nature, space represents the absence of things and so it is tempting to think that space may most easily perceived and understood when boundaries and margins are imposed. But to define and confine space in this way seems limiting to me.
If I can achieve an empty mind, through work or through meditation, there is much to be found there.
